PART 2
The moment a Mayday is declared marks a critical turning point—but what happens after the rescue is just as important. Part 2 of this workshop will focus on the chief officer’s vital role in the hours, days, and weeks following a Mayday incident. From incident review and internal accountability to personnel support, mental health considerations, and organizational recovery, chief officers must lead with clarity, compassion, and strategy. Participants will explore post-incident debriefing processes, critical incident stress management, media relations, and the importance of transparent communication with both internal and external stakeholders. This workshop will provide a roadmap for navigating the complex aftermath of a Mayday event while reinforcing trust, resilience, and continuous improvement within the organization.
