Grant Tinker is an experienced fire service professional with 22 years of experience, and leadership development, and fire ground operations background. As a Colorado Springs Fire Department battalion chief, Chief Tinker oversees several stations and essential programs and holds positions on multiple committees and task forces. He holds the designation of Chief Fire Officer (CFO), Fire Officer (FO) and Chief Training Officer (CTO) and certification as a Fire Officer IV. He is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Managing Officer Program.

In addition to his role within CSFD, Chief Tinker serves as a CPC Commissioner and chairs the Ethics and Compliance Committee. Known for his engaging teaching style, he frequently instructs on critical topics like Incident Safety and presents on “Normalization of Deviance” at conferences nationwide. Recognized as CSFD Firefighter of the Year in 2018, Chief Tinker is dedicated to upholding the highest fire service standards and contributing to the continuous improvement of fire and emergency services.
