Deanna Zurey is a seasoned leader in community risk reduction and public safety, currently serving as the Division Chief of Community Risk Reduction at Arvada Fire Protection District. With a robust background in emergency management and healthcare, she combines her expertise in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation with a passion for fire safety and risk mitigation. Deanna's career has been marked by a commitment to reducing the impact of disasters on communities, driven by personal experiences that fuel her dedication. She has been recognized for her leadership with multiple awards, including Fire & Life Safety Public Educator of the Year. A graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, she holds both a Bachelor's and Master's in Kinesiology, and is furthering her education with the Executive Fire Officer program at the National Fire Academy. Outside of her professional pursuits, Deanna enjoys exploring nature and photography, finding solace in the mountains.
