Lisa Pine has over 27 years’ experience working with diverse stakeholder groups to find optimal solutions to complex issues. Prior to starting her career in the fire service, she spent 14 years as an environmental planner and public outreach specialist working on complex environmental reviews in support of large infrastructure projects in Colorado.
Lisa left Genesee Fire Rescue in 2015 to become the DFPC Training and Safety Officer where she worked with fire departments statewide to ensure all members of the fire service have the training they need to stay safe and meet the needs of their communities. In August 2019, she took the position of Administrator with the newly created Colorado Fire Commission, a diverse group of stakeholders evaluating Colorado’s fire issues.
Chief Pine has two Masters Degrees, one in Geography, focused on post-wildland fire erosion processes and recovery, and one in Leadership. She was awarded Executive Fire Officer designation from the USFA National Fire Academy in 2020. Originally from Rochester, NY, Lisa lives in Evergreen with her husband Daniel, dogs, Tucker and Pirate (the one-eyed wonder dog), both Great Pyrenees mixes, and cat, Prim. All but the husband are rescues.
