COTAK: A Free Real-time Location Service for Colorado First Responders
Description

First responders have well-honed processes and tools to communicate ‘what’ is happening during incident responses, but have you thought about how your firefighters communicate ‘where’ things are happening? Especially when crews are on foot, working with mutual aid partners, or out of district the mental model firefighters form using information from a voice radio may fail or become inaccurate.

The Colorado Team Awareness Kit (COTAK) can help! This app-based software is provided for free by DFPC to all Colorado first responders and is designed from the ground up to allow crews in the field, and those that support them, to see live data on locations of other responders, incident-specific information, and more. COTAK has robust interoperability capabilities allowing our over 6000 users across 450 public safety agencies in Colorado to collaborate securely. Learn how COTAK was created and its core features and explore recent updates to the system at this session.
