Jeremy Young serves as Fire Chief of the Frederick-Firestone Fire District in Colorado. He began his emergency services career in 1992 in the Kansas City, Missouri area, where he served until 2017, when he was selected to lead the Frederick-Firestone organization.
A graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program, Chief Young holds a master's degree in organizational leadership and is completing a doctorate in business administration. His scholarship and practice center on leadership development, succession planning, and organizational culture. He carries his responsibilities into the fire service through a transformational leadership philosophy grounded in care for the people he leads.
Chief Young is active in fire service leadership at the state and national levels. He serves as Vice President of the Colorado State Fire Chiefs Association and as 2nd Vice President of the IAFC Missouri Valley Division, and he sits on the board of the IAFC Executive Fire Officer Section and the IAFC Constitution and Bylaws Committee.
