Dr. Sara Metz is the founder of Code-4 Counseling and a public safety psychologist specializing in resilience, trauma recovery, peer support, and organizational wellness. Over the past 15 years, she has partnered with first responder organizations across the country, providing mental health and wellness services, critical incident response, leadership consultation, and wellness program development. Dr. Metz served as Program Director for Colorado State University Global's M.S. in Military and Emergency Responder Psychology and has presented nationally for organizations including the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), the U.S. Department of Justice, and numerous state and national public safety conferences. Recognized by the American Psychological Association for her contributions to public safety psychology, Dr. Metz is passionate about translating research into practical strategies that help responders strengthen resilience, navigate adversity, and create cultures where asking for help is viewed as a sign of strength—not weakness.
